Running Designer on Windows server systems

To run ELMA RPA Designer on Windows 2012 server systems, you need to install the Media Foundation component.

There are two ways to install the framework:

1. Using the PowerShell console.

Enter the following command:

Install-WindowsFeature Server-Media-Foundation

2. Using the Server Manager utility.

Let’s see how the latter works with Windows 2012 R2.

Step 1. Open the Server Manager utility.

Step 2. Go to the Management tab and click Add Roles and Features.

Step 3. In the Add Roles and Features Wizard, select the Windows Server Essentials Experience role.

Step 4. Select the Media Foundation feature.

Step 5. Install the feature.

Step 6. Restart the server.
