Create or edit project plan

The default privileges to edit the project plan are only given to the Project Manager. However, the administrator can grant these privileges to other project participants, too.

To create or edit  the plan, go to the Gantt Chart widget on the project and click Edit. The creating and editing page opens.

  • Click sort-icon-1 to open the search window, enter search parameters and sort project plan items in the chart;
  • Click project-gear-icon  to open the chart's menu. The following options are available:
    • Auto-scheduling. This option is enabled by default and automatically reschedules the dates of linked tasks to a later date;
    • Reverse auto-scheduling. Enabling this options allows you to automatically reschedule the dates of linked tasks to an earlier date.

The following examples illustrate how these two options work. Let's say you have created and linked two tasks. They are scheduled one after another, as soon as task A is completed, task B starts.

If Auto-scheduling is enabled, once you change the start of task A for a later date, the start date of task B automatically reschedules for a later date, too. This allows keeping the link between the tasks.

If Reverse auto-scheduling is enabled, once you change the start of task B for an earlier date, the start date of task A automatically reschedules for an earlier date, too.

    • Compare with the current one. This option is available if you have a published version of the project plan. Enable it in edit mode when adding a new plan version. The chart will show the outlines of the tasks in the published version. This way you can compare the changes that you have made to the plan with the currently published tasks;
    • Show project start and end dates. Enable this option if you want the chart to show the start and end dates of the project;
    • Show current date. Enable this option if you want the chart to show the current date;
    • Show deleted. Enable this option to see and restore the deleted tasks of the project plan.

To leave the edit mode and return to the project page, click delete-icon-6.
