Set and Get From Clipboard

Set To Clipboard and Get From Clipboard activities are designed to work with the clipboard.

The settings of these activities are configured automatically when recording a process. You can change them if you need. To open the settings window, click on the activity on the process diagram.

Set To Clipboard Activity

The Set To Clipboard activity copies a variable value from the process context to the clipboard. You can use it in combination with the Key Combination activity to move big texts. Copy the text to clipboard and press the Ctrl+V combination.

Read more about context variables in the "Process context" article.

Parameters Tab

The Parameters tab displays the basic activity parameters:

copy parameters

  • Name. The activity name on the process diagram. It is set by the template when adding the activity. You can change the name if you need;
  • Parameter. Select the process context variable to copy the value from.

Get From Clipboard Activity

The Get From Clipboard activity inserts a value from the clipboard to the process context variable. You can use it to compare values. For example, you need to compare the current document number with another one. Copy the first value to clipboard. The data will be written into the variable, and you will be able to use the copied value in the process. Another example of using this activity is getting data from tables and files (pgf, xlsx etc.). To do this, select a part of the document using the key combinations, copy it to clipboard and select the context variable you want to paste the value to.

1. Select the required text and copy it to clipboard.

2. Drag the Get From Clipboard activity to the process diagram. In the Parameter field, select the context variable that will store the selected text.

After saving the process, the Get From Clipboard activity will be added to the process diagram.

You can change the configured settings if you need. To open the settings window, click on the activity on the process diagram.
