What is a personal calendar?
Every ELMA365 user has their own personal calendar. It is an independent workspace that can be accessed from the left menu.
The personal calendar contains events from all workspace calendars, with which the employee is somehow connected. Suppose HR employees use two calendars: one for interviews and one for meetings. In the first calendar, the HR specialists add meetings with applicants (employees create events themselves), and in the events of the second calendar an HR employee is added as a participant. In this case, the HR employee's personal calendar will display both interviews and department meetings.
The personal calendar shows events that you are scheduled to participate in, including those events that were created in the workspace calendars. A person can be added as a participant to the event created in the HR workspace calendar (e.g. interview with a candidate). At the same time, this person may schedule their own event, say a department meeting, in the personal calendar. Both the interview and the meeting will be shown in the person's personal calendar.
All tasks assigned to a person by their colleagues will be shown in the personal calendar as well.
If a person has been assigned to a managerial position in the company's organizational chart, they will be able to view the events of their subordinates. We describe this in detail in the article My department.
The counter on the left panel show the number of events scheduled for the current date. The counter doesn't show closed events.
When you create an event in the personal calendar you may specify its location.
If you try to schedule overlapping events, ELMA365 will display a warning message.
Integration with external calendars
You can export events from the personal calendar to another calendar that you own, for example, to Google Calendar. It will let you stay up to date with your professional and personal meetings, events, and appointments.
Open your personal calendar in ELMA365, click the gear icon next to the date and select Event Export.
In the window that opens, you can enable or disable event export. By default, it is disabled.
Select the Enable export check box and specify the period for exporting events. You can choose the current day, week, month or three months.
Then, copy the connection link and paste it to your own calendar.
To copy the link, click the icon to the right of the Connection link field and then press Ctrl+C.
Below the link, you will find examples of how to export your personal calendar to Microsoft Outlook and Google. You can also use any calendar that supports iCal format.
The link will work only after you click the Save button.
Once the link is copied, the calendars will sync and the events from your personal ELMA365 calendar will be shown in another calendar.
Henceforth, your calendars will stay synchronized. Note that synchronization may take some time and depends on how often the data in your other calendar is updated.
