A web form is a window with a small set of fields used for entering and sending data, for example, a phone number and an email. With these forms it is convenient to accept orders, create a database of email addresses for commercial mailing, collect feedback from clients and so on. In this article we will describe how to collect leads using web forms and automatically create deals in the ELMA365 pipeline.
Using a web form
Suppose a visitor comes to your site and, having become interested in your product, clicks on the “learn more” button. A new window opens where the visitor enters his or her name, email address, and phone number. ELMA365 sends this data to the Clients workspace and creates a new deal.
Now your employees can start working with the deal, schedule a phone call or email information to the potential client.
Setting up a web form
Let’s set up a form for collecting data from potential clients in the Deals app. In the app menu, select Web forms. The page that opens will store all web forms that you create. Click on the +Web form button to create a new one.
The form builder with a ready-made template will open. You will only need to customize it.
At the top of the form, write a description, for example, describe your services or ask users to enter their data. Then, customize the fields. Since a new form is created in a certain app and is binded to it, it contains the same set of fields as the app by default.
Please note that only string and numeric fields can be used on web forms, including Yes / No switch, Category, Email and Phone. You cannot place fields such as File, Full Name, Money, Date / Time, User, App. You can read more about the types of fields used in the system in this article.
If needed, you can also rename the fields and remove unnecessary ones from the form.
There are three suitable fields in the Deals app – Name, Email and Phone. Let’s make them required. To do so, click on the asterisk next to the field name. A red asterisk indicates that the form cannot be submitted if this field is left blank.
The layout of the form can be customized for your site as much as possible – choose fonts, background color, change the arrangement of the fields and buttons.
For example, let’s change the form’s background color to light gray and select the OpenSans font. Then, let’s change the fields shape to rounded, rearrange them, remove the headers and edit the message about personal data processing. Let’s also change the button color to yellow and add a captcha to protect against spam.
Now, go to the Settings tab. Here you can set the form’s name and write a message that the clients will see after filling out the form.
Save the finished form.
Adding a form to your website
Now you have to add the form to your site. Open the form by clicking on its name in the list with forms. You will see that the form has a new tab – the embed code. Copy this code and place it where you want it on your site.
By returning to the Form builder tab you can edit the form as you wish.
Likewise, you can create web forms in other apps, for example, to collect feedback and suggestions from your clients.
